Abstract
Starting on the methodology of literary analysis developed by Gerardo Argüelles, based on fundamental phenomenological notions, this paper seeks to reveal both the meaning and the significance of the interweaving of the sound phenomenon with the border in three narrations by Eduardo Antonio Parra “En la orilla”, “El pozo” and “Bajo la mirada de la luna”. Thus, it seeks to highlight the importance of sound as an element that can anticipate, accompany or announce events that nourish both the plot, the narrative space and the psychological configuration of the characters in the sense of the work. In the same way, it is analyzed how this sound phenomenon contributes elements to the meaning from the construction of specific images of the world and the humanity linked to the border, making visible the contrasts of a world that oscillates in the limit of the civilized and the wild, tranquility and violence, justice and injustice, pain and pleasure, hope and despair and, above all, the constant limit between life and death.
