Abstract

The texts as diaries, essays, personal notes create a space where the cultural load acquires a more dynamic value, the static creation is abandoned to enter cracks in the narrative that allow reflexive actions of world events. Following this line we approach the writing of Horacio Castellanos Moya and Gonzalo Maier who use the encounter with Japan in the travel format to manifest, in their discursivities, practices, habits, symbols, linguistic signs that contribute to the construction and renewal of identity. With the proposal of both authors we will observe that the travel narrative allows us to be participants in making visible both the heterogeneity of the self and of multiculturalism and its complexity in geography. For the narrators of the texts presented in this text, the world is being redefined through discourses that expand and seem to overthrow geographical boundaries.
